Diary of a voyage to San Francisco, California from Warren or Providence, Rhode Island in 1849. In addition to relating his travel experiences, Thompson lists the passengers and crew members of the Ship Hopewell. The following year he summarizes his experiences seeking gold after landing in San Francisco.
